Father Belo House-Museum

An avid collector of art throughout his life, Father Francisco Belo built (by acquisition or offer) one of the most remarkable collections of images and artistic expressions of Christ's childhood and adolescence: from figures of Baby Jesus to the figure of the Resurrection of Christ. Thousands of pieces in the form of images, crucifixes, mangers, paintings, and symbolic objects.
He donated his house and its contents to Santa Casa da Misericórdia. This entity respects the intimate experience of this space so that guests may contemplate the collection that includes several notable pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries, such as a unique nativity scene (18th century), several rare images, and crucifixes.
